Qantas Japan Sale - Now On!

We know Japan can be pretty affordable once you arrive (depending on your accommodation choices). One of the more expensive parts of your trip Japan can be the cost of flights, which is why we are always on the lookout for flight deals to our favourite place in the world.

You can imagine our delight we when we logged on this morning to see an email from Qantas announcing an ‘Asia Red Tail’ sale, including flights to Japan.

The flight dates are from May to around August - depending on where you fly to and from - and some of the fares are that good that you could totally justify a cheeky city break in Tokyo or Osaka, whether it be for a couples long weekend, or a longer break with the family.

Not that we think anyone needs an excuse to visit Japan - we certainly don’t - and we have already jumped on these fares for our next trip! If you are weighing up whether or not to take advantage of these fares, you absolutely should.

Japan in the summer is an entirely different experience. Baseball, festivals, fireworks, and rooftop beer gardens are absolute musts. The whole country takes on a different appearance and you’ll get to truly experience Japan like a local.

The food is different too, with many summer dishes which you won’t generally get to sample if you visit in the colder months. Tsukemen for instance is the perfect summer ramen - noodles served with a cold dipping broth. This dish is an all-time favourite of The Japan Concierge!

Then there are the festivals (or matsuri). Summer is the time when Japan celebrates in style. It is said that there are over 200,000 of these matsuri across Japan and the very best are held in Summer. One of the most spectacular is the Aomori Nebuta Matsuri held in Aomori City in the first week of August. It attracts over 2.5 million visitors each year and is one of the most famous festivals in Japan. The biggest draw - and the festival's namesake - are the nebuta floats made from paper, wire and lights, and represent mythical characters from Japan’s history and religions. These incredible, intricate (yet enormous) floats are a sight to behold with their colourful snarling warriors, bizarre monsters and lifelike animals.

These are just a few reasons why you should consider taking up these fares - there are hundreds more which we can happily talk you through if you’re considering a trip.

In the meantime though, don’t sleep on this offer - it expires on the 18th March.

So why not let us take care of booking you an incredible Japanese summer experience?
