Participate in Tokyo's incredible food and shopping scene as you get off the beaten path and see Tokyo through the eyes of a local. These seven days offer visitors a true insider’s experience of the Nation’s capital.

Shibuya's scramble crossing

Day 1

Check into your boutique hotel in Shibuya, and then acquaint yourself with the youth culture centre of Tokyo. Get your mandatory pics of Shibuya’s incredible Scramble Crossing and Hachiko. Then make your way to the top of Tokyo’s newest attraction and see all of Tokyo from the Shibuya Sky observation deck before you Catch ‘Em All at the Pokémon Centre. Be sure to check out the nearby Loft and BAPE stores. Dinner will be at a secret Shochu bar and restaurant, serving an amazing collection of Shochu-based cocktails.

Day 2

Hop on the Yamanote line and head north to a historic corner of Tokyo that survived WW2 bombings and now boasts a vibrant creative community. Enjoy a leisurely morning of discovery before indulging in a delicious lunch at one of the area's many exceptional eateries. Spend the rest of the day fossicking for Showa era antiques. Enjoy a delicious dinner at one of The Japan Concierge’s favourite local izakayas.

Day 3

Dive into the vibrant fashion scene of Harajuku, guided by a personal stylist. Discover avant-garde fashion districts like Aoyama and Daikanyama and treat yourself to that unique outfit (or three) that you will only find in Tokyo. This evening you will indulge in a Michelin-starred sushi dinner followed by drinks at a nearby whiskey bar.

Day 4

Embark on a guided tour showcasing the city's artistic side that uncovers Tokyo's hidden design studios and galleries. Explore Tokyo's artistic pulse through a personalised tour of intimate galleries and studios. Enjoy a gourmet picnic amidst Koishikawa Korakuen's beauty before bar hopping through the Golden Gai’s 200 hundred tiny watering holes after dark.

Day 5

Visit Tokyo’s equivalent of New York City's East Village, known for its boho vibe. Spend your morning wandering through the narrow alleys and side streets. Discover vintage stores, thrift shops, and unique boutiques. Grab a bite for dinner and then check out one of the area's music venues or catch an indie band performing in a local bar.

Day 6

Unleash your competitive nature with a private baseball batting session, followed by a trip out to Tokyo’s home of baseball to load up on Tokyo Giants merch and then get your skates on for a few hours of roller skating, followed by dinner and a bout of karaoke in your own karaoke Ferris-wheel cabin.

Saturday shopping in Ginza

Day 7

Spend your last day in Tokyo shopping in Ginza, the Park Avenue of Tokyo, visiting the plethora of department stores and their amazing basement food halls (or depachika as the local’s know them). Be sure to stock up on last-minute purchases and souvenirs at the legendary Ginza Itoya before enjoying a delicious serving of ramen at a Michelin stared ramen joint. Reluctantly check out of your hotel and depart for the airport, already planning for your return.
